Mission 5: Pray for what God is doing globally

This week’s mission is to be in prayer for what God is doing globally. For Mountain Creekers, be sure to pray for our team in Canada and for Southwinds Church. Pray that God will work through them and in them. Pray that God will show them up close and personal how He is moving in post-Christian Canada.

[Update: Just found out that Jeff Sims will be blogging Canada team updates at here.]

Here are a few other specific prayer needs you can pray for:

  • Pray for David Rice and his family in Hungary.
  • Darren Tipton and DoMissions’ work in Africa.
  • Check out the IMB’s prayer page to see specific prayer needs in their work around the world.

Also, stay aware this week of global news and be in prayer for specific world situations (like the bloody election in Zimbabwe). Click here for more news sites than you could ever want.

Pray that the glory of God and the good news of Jesus will spread among all nations and tribes.

on the way flight from Calgary to Dallas on Sunday i had an opportunity to do three missions at once, without even noticing. on the plane i was sitting next to a guy that i didnt know so i started a conversation to get past the awkwardness of sitting next to someone i dont know for 3.5 hours. before the plane had even taken off we were in a pretty deep conversation about church, religion, faith, and other related topics. he is Canadian and is starting a job in about 6 weeks with a christian orgaization in the UK called New Generation. the mission of this organization is to help and teach students to become missionaries in their schools. he also said a goal is to reach the next president or prostitute before the world has a chance to make them who they will become. i checked out the website he gave me, NewGenerationUK.com, and you should too. we talked a good bit of the flight, and when we were about to land i asked him if there was anything that i could be praying about for New Generation and/or him as he begins his new job and he asked for prayer that the students he works with will step up and take the responsibility of spreading the gospel in their schools. i hope that you all will pray for him, the students, this organization, and the movement that it has started throughout the world through studets.

Wow, Addie, that is awesome! Three missions in one flight. Nice! Thanks for sharing about New Generation. I love their mission. Let’s certainly remember them in prayer.
